2016 Olympics

The opening happened the day August 5.The closing will take place on 21 August. Both ceremonies will take place at Maracana Stadium.
The current capacity of the Maracana Stadium is 82,000 people.
Approximately 11,000 athletes from 205 nations and two special delegations (Independent Olympic athletes and Olympic athletes Refugees) are participating in the 2016 Olympics
Mascots:
Two mascots will represent the 2016 Olympics:Vinícius (representing the animals of Brazil) and Ton (represents the plants of Brazil).The names are tributes to two great composers of Brazilian popular music: Vinicius de Moraes and Tom Jobim.
Modality:
Will be disputed 28 Olympic disciplines, now with seven Rugby and golf that have not played in the 2012 Olympics.
